Langley Mill Academy has never been recognised as good or better in all areas of the framework in the history of Ofsted inspections, so to secure this judgement is a fantastic achievement.

This is a wonderful acknowledgement of the hard work, dedication, and progress we have made as a school. The inspection team highlighted our school’s strengths, including our strong community, inclusive culture, and the positive relationships between staff and pupils. The team found that pupils demonstrate our core key values and that behaviour is strong. Pupils are motivated in their learning and staff have high expectations and aspirations for what pupils can achieve through our ambitious curriculum.

I am particularly proud that the report recognises our opportunities for personal development. It was noted that our pupils benefit from immersive and rich experiences that are woven through the curriculum, such as opportunities for pupil leadership, visits from inspirational figures and trips that broaden understanding beyond the classroom. It was fabulous to read that the inspection team also found that our pupils have a deep understanding of diversity and equality, and celebrate difference, with one pupil so eloquently explaining that ‘I want to be kind, brave and a voice for change’.

We have a school community to be proud of.  It has been a journey that I have been on for 10 years, and for many staff, considerably longer. Their commitment and dedication to our families cannot be praised enough.  I know that the whole team feel privileged to work at Langley Mill Academy.

I would like to extend my thanks to all of you for your continued support, as we work together with the excellent strategic team at Djanogly Learning Trust to make Langley Mill Academy an even better place for our children to belong, grow and thrive.
